How does it matters to have a 3MP (megapixel), 7MP or a 12MP camera when all of them can get you a picture? It may not matter to a novice or a common man but resolution of camera is what makes a picture worthy to the moment on which it was clicked. In the initial stage of digital camera revolution, megapixels or resolution was of more important specification than it is today that was because the low resolution limited the size print. One could make 8x10 inch print and that too quite acceptable from a 2-megapixel camera’s file but above that like 3-megapixel would have turned the picture sharper. Subsequently, 4 and 5 megapixel cameras would let you crop the images with enough resolution left to make a respectable 8x10 inch print. However, these days we have 12 megapixels, and undoubtedly it is advantageous to have a 12 megapixel cameras to make good-looking 8x10 inch prints. The most important thing that can be said about a 12 megapixel is that, within a given model line, one will be likely to find more advanced capabilities and snazzy features on the higher-end models which generally sports a higher-resolution sensors. It can be concluded as a 12 megapixel camera is a possible indicator of more feature-rich cameras. There are too many 12 megapixel cameras to choose from and certainly you would go for the best in the business like Nikon D3s, Olympus FE- 5020, Nikon D700, Nikon D90 and many more.
